#tdc5243 #ds106 #dailycreate #ds106 Illustrate the Idiom
For this Daily Create, I needed to visually represent an idiom in a drawing. I chose the idiom “It’s raining cats and dogs” for my drawing. I will admit that I did use AI to help me with this.

This daily create connects to the multimedia principle because combining text and visuals can help improve understanding. For this activity, it also relates to data visualization because, in this case, the idiom works like abstract “data”. The idiom carries meaning that is easier to understand when put into a visual form. In education, visual representation is important because it turns abstract language into something immediately interpretable, which can improve communication and reduce misunderstanding.
#tdc5143 #ds106 Meaningful object
A thin gold chain bracelet sits quietly in a small jewelry dish on my dresser. It’s simple—no charms, no stones, just a delicate loop of gold that catches the light when I move it.
It doesn’t look like much at first glance, but it means a lot to me. My great aunt gave it to me before my family moved to Victoria. At the time, I didn’t fully understand why I was holding onto it so tightly, only that I didn’t want to put it away in a box or lose it in the chaos of moving.
Now it feels like a small link to where I came from and the people who were part of that place. Whenever I see it or wear it, it reminds me that distance doesn’t erase connection. Even though life changed and I moved away, that bracelet stayed the same—steady, simple, and quietly meaningful.
For this Daily Create, I needed to choose an object in my house that is meaningful to me and describe it. I chose a gold bracelet that my great aunt gifted me. In this Daily Create, I used the personalization principle because my reflection uses a conversational and personal tone. It also relates to data visualization because in a way, storytelling turns personal “data” (memories and meaning) into something structured and understandable.
#tdc4702 #ds106 Illustrated numbers
This Daily Create wanted me to illustrate a number in the same way that Tim Burton does. I chose the number 7 and made it Halloween themed.

This activity connects to the multimedia principle because combining numbers with visuals could improve someone’s understanding. For example, a little kid who is learning how to count. I think that this activity could also relate to the coherence principle because the design really only focuses on the number and the idea that “less is more”. It also strongly relates to this week’s theme of data visualization, since numbers are a form of data and visualizing them helps transform abstract quantities into meaningful patterns that are easier to understand.
