For this daily create, we were asked to create a monster from shapes found in a photo that we’ve taken.

My photo was taken at Durrance Lake in Victoria, BC. I made my monster from the shape of the water through the trees. I also used a nearby tree branch to create part of its mouth.

I think this activity encouraged me to think between the lines and use my imagination to create an idea. In multimedia, images help learners make connections and see concepts from new perspectives. Here, this same photo could have been interpreted differently by someone else to make a very different monster.

#tdc5134 #ds106 Take a picture of your car from an unusual perspective

This daily create wanted us to take a picture of our car from a different angle or perspective.

This activity highlighted how images can influence attention and perception. Taking a photo of my car from an unusual angle changed how it was viewed and highlighted details that might otherwise go unnoticed. I think this could relate to the signalling principle because the angle highlights certain parts of the image.

#tdc4999 #ds106 Accidental Photo

This daily create asked us to show the most recent accidental photo in our camera roll.

While a picture of myself holding a wine bottle might not be entirely appropriate for a class, it is perfectly appropriate for this daily create.

This activity demonstrated how images can communicate context, emotion, and meaning without requiring text. My photo tells a story that people can interpret for themselves.
