Introduction – Sydney Dunnill

Hi! My name is Sydney. I’ve included some information below for you to learn all about me!

I grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, all the way until age 15, when my parents decided to move my brothers and I to the beautiful city of Victoria. I’m in my second year at UVic, studying Health Information Science. When I’m not busy studying or in school, you can find me at the pool working as a swim coach! Other hobbies I enjoy include baking, hiking and swimming with my dog, Lily, and spending a fun night out with my friends.

A fun fact about me is that I speak both English and French! I spent most of my primary and secondary education in French schools because my parents wanted my siblings and I to be able to speak a second language if we decided to travel abroad as we got older.

I’m really looking forward to exploring new themes and ideas in this course. In a program like Health Information, a lot of the concepts we study can become very niche and specialized, so I’m excited for the opportunity to step outside of that and gain new perspectives through EDCI 337. I’m hoping this course will help broaden my thinking and expand my learning in ways that connect to both my academic and personal interests.
