#tdc5204 #ds106 #dailycreate International Plant Appreciation Day
This Daily Create asked me to share and reflect on a plant in my home that I appreciate and explain its personal significance.

These peonies that I have in my house are special to me for a few reasons. Not only are peonies my favourite flower, but these specifically, my mom grew in our backyard. Peonies are crazy expensive, so it’s cool to say that I got these for free!
This Daily Create connects to Mayer’s Multimedia Principle because the image of the peonies worked together with my written explanation to create a fuller understanding of why they are meaningful to me. The photo provided visual context, while the story added personal significance that would not be obvious from the image alone. In education, combining visuals and text can help learners better understand and connect with information.
#tdc5150 #ds106 Join the Party
This Daily Create asked me to imagine myself inside a party scene and describe a character, conversation, and environment based on the image. I focused on one person in the scene and built a short interaction and atmosphere around them.
I’d probably talk to the woman in the yellow hat who’s leaning on the railing. She looks a little bored, like she’s been listening to the same conversations all afternoon and is waiting for something more interesting to happen. I’d ask her if she actually knows everyone here or if she just came for the food and drinks. From there, we’d probably end up talking about the people at the party and making guesses about who’s friends with who.

The whole scene feels pretty relaxed and social. People are chatting over each other, laughing, and moving between different conversations. There’s food and wine on the table, the weather looks nice, and nobody seems to be in a rush to leave.
This activity connects to the Personalization Principle because I created a conversational story based on the image rather than simply describing what I saw. By imagining interactions and relationships between people at the party, I made the scene feel more engaging and relatable. In education, storytelling can help learners connect with content and actively construct meaning from visual media.
#tdc5151 #ds106 Draw With Tiny Humans
This Daily Create asked me to use the Tiny Humans website to create a drawing using small human figures placed into a scene. I chose to write EDCI as it fits the theme of our course.

This Daily Create relates to the Spatial Contiguity Principle, as the position and relationship between the figures helped tell the story. In education, creating visual content encourages learners to engage more deeply with ideas and communicate them in creative ways.
